During this clinic, individuals are assigned to meet with legal advocates that will help complete paperwork requesting the court to expunge and/or seal criminal records. Legal advocates will also share “Know Your Rights” information on how a person’s record may be used in the context of employment and housing.
This clinic is virtual and appointment-based only, and only serves residents of the Antelope Valley (Lancaster, Palmdale, and surrounding areas). If you live in the Antelope Valley, you can request a referral to the NLSLA expungement clinic through the Antelope Valley DOORS program. Non-Antelope Valley residents can request assistance from A New Way of Life, the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, or Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
Please note that this clinic has a waitlist, and it could take several months to receive an appointment. While you wait for your appointment, we recommend that you gather support letters, certificates of completion of programs you’ve taken, documentation showing education or work history, and any other evidence showing how your life is different now, compared to when your case(s) occurred.
