Medical-Legal Community Partnerships
MLCP attorneys are co-located at hospitals and community-based clinics to provide legal help to clinic patients and support to healthcare workers. MLCP advocates focus on addressing the legal barriers impacting patients’ health.
The MLCP team is currently developing a new partnership with Los Angeles County’s Department of Mental Health (DMH). Through this DMH partnership, the MLCP team will staff several DMH clinics and provide much-needed civil legal services to their patients. Please keep checking this site for further developments.
A Note About Our Location at The Wellness Center
The MLCP Team will bid a fond farewell to its longtime home at The Wellness Center at the historic L.A. County General Hospital. While we are leaving this familiar space, we are not leaving the community we serve.
On August 31, 2026, we will relocate just outside the hospital to the former YMCA building located in the forecourt at 1226 North State Street, where our team will continue providing critical legal services to patients and families receiving health care at L.A. General Medical Center.
A new location, but the same mission and commitment to ensuring that patients have access to the legal help they need to achieve greater health, stability, and well-being.
