NLSLA’s Bankruptcy Self-Help Center, an important collaboration between NLSLA and the United States Bankruptcy Court in the San Fernando Valley, celebrated ten years of helping Los Angeles County residents come out from under crushing debt and begin their lives again.
The Central District of California has led the nation in unrepresented filings, and continues to handle more pro se cases than any other district in the nation. The NLSLA Bankruptcy Self-Help Center, the first self-help center located onsite in the Central District of California, is staffed by dedicated volunteer attorneys who ensure that people living in poverty have access to the same benefits and protections afforded to those with more resources.
