Please join us for an online statewide training for advocates on the CalFresh work and community engagement rules and time limits. CalFresh work requirements took effect in June, and the first wave of terminations linked to this rule change is expected to begin October 1, 2026.

This workshop will include a deep dive into exemptions and required verifications, practical tips on how to help individuals navigate new rules and avoid emerging challenges, and a tutorial on BenefitsCal with respect to work requirements and establishing exemptions. MLCE credits will be offered for legal services providers.

The training is co-hosted by California Food Banks, California Immigrant Policy Center, The Children’s Partnership, CSU Chico Center of Health Communities, Coalition of California Welfare Rights Organizations, Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) and the BAILA Network, Public Interest Law Project, River City Food Bank, and the Western Center on Law & Poverty.
