John was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in San Diego, California. He attended undergraduate and then law school at USC, then clerked Judge Paul Watford and Judge Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit, and then started his career as an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he remains today. John is currently a partner at MTO, where his practice focuses on complex civil litigation, mostly involving technology companies. John is also active in the Los Angeles community; in addition to serving on the NLSLA Board, John serves on the University of Southern California Law School’s Board of Councilors Clerkship Committee, which encourages USC Law students to seek judicial clerkships, and on the Homeowner Committee of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.
