DESCRIPTION:This is a free event and can be attended virtually or in-person. \nNLSLA\, Pepperdine Caruso School of Law\, & Kilpatrick Townsend will be holding their 2022 Disaster Training Conference\, which includes: \n\nFour disaster training courses on FEMA and SBA issues and appeals\, trauma-informed lawyering\, and an overview of the role of “legal first responders” to a disaster (MCLE credit offered)\nA simulated earthquake response exercise\nA panel discussion on active advocacy efforts in the California legislature on disaster response\, preparedness\, and climate-related legislation\n\n\nThe Keynote speaker will be Dr. Lucy Jones\, the founder of the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society and one of the foremost seismologists in the Country.
